I love cooking on Sunday's. Making meals for the week take stress off me. With class' starting back this week I wanted to make sure we had dinner and lunches for the week.
I usually order my recipe's via Relay Foods so all items are delivered to my home and I don't have to worry about making sure I have ingredients. This Turkey Chili was a spur of the moment recipe with items in my pantry! I wanted to cook something in the crockpot, like a stew. However, I didn't have items for a stew. I did however find a packet of chili, black beans, and tomato paste. So I searched online to see what other items I would need. Sadly I didn't have diced tomato's so it's a simple chili with meat, onion, and beans.
Canned Beans (I used Black because we prefer them)
2 tablespoons Tomato Paste
1 Cup Water
Chili seasoning packet
Diced Tomato (if you have)
Pour Water into Crock pot, Add Chili seasoning, and Tomato Paste. Mix together till well blended. Add Onion, Beans, and Turkey. Cook on High for 2 hours.
Serve with Cheese and Sour Cream.
I love cooking in the Crock Pot. To me it means Fall is here! We have certain dishes we make in the Spring and Summer, and Fall and Winter. One Spring/Summer dish is Pasta Salad. Fall/Summer is warm comfort food in the Crock Pot! This was so simple to make and took no time at all. I actually put this together when my husband and a friend went fishing. When they came home I had a warm tasty meal for them to eat! After about an hour I stir the ingredients and break up the meat, then in another hour I turn the heat down to low. This let's the juices really blend!
