How I Prepared for Savannah + Our Trip Recap

This weekend for our Anniversary we took a trip to Savannah.  My husband worked in Savannah a few years ago and always wanted to take me.  The culture and history made an impact on him.  My hubby should have been a history teacher but other choices created the life he has.  Which I am glad for but it doesn't stop him from learning or teaching me about history.

While packing for our Savannah trip I made sure to pack Sally Hansen Wax Products.  No woman wants to worry about body hair while on vacation!  My hubby suggested we make the 30 minute ride to Tybee Island.  There is nothing worse than putting on a Bikini and having hair in places it shouldn't be.  I know I am married but that doesn't mean I should let my body hair go crazy!  I keep it in check with Sally Hansen Wax Strip Kit Body and Ouch-Relief Wax Strip Kit.

You can find all the Sally Hansen products at your local Target.
Just go to the Women's waxing and shave isle.

We left for Savannah on Friday, the drive was 5 hours.  I booked us an Airbnb House in downtown.  After getting settled into our "Carriage" house we called an Uber and went to Riverwalk.  WOW, this place is so fun and amazing.  Restaurant after Restaurant, Shop after Shop.  At our second stop we got drinks to go....Yeah we walked with our cocktails.  So fun.  Some of the places we went were Lizzy's where I tried Blueberry Beer, Bernie's Oyster House where I ordered 6 steamed oysters and a Peach Sangria.  There was this open air market that my hubby purchased a tee shirt and I got a new ring.  The lady was so sweet and negotiated the price with us (B says everything is negotiable here).

My outfit this night were these adorable pom pom shorts I snagged at Target when I purchased my Sally Hansen Wax Strip Kit Body.  Having the wax strip kit made wearing a tank top worry free.  Below are some picture's at the Riverwalk.  My hubby is really coming along with taking picture's of me!
Also while at Target picking up Sally Hansen Wax Products we purchased B this Plaid Button Down and Fedora.  He looks so handsome and totally vacation ready.  Just like I am with the wax strip kits.
On Saturday we drove to Tybee Island.  Whew for Sally Hansen Wax Strip Kit Body, I didn't have to worry about my bikini area.  We had so much fun in the sun and in the water.  In total we were there 3 hours.  We went at the perfect time and the beach wasn't crowded, however when we left it was filling up.  The only down side was my hubby wore his expensive Ray Ban's in the ocean, got hit by a wave and lost them.  He had to wear my back up "cat eye" sunglass.  They were very becoming on him. lol

The beach sure does wipe you out.  We crashed hard after getting back.  Luckily we woke in time for the Annual Crabfest.  Which is actually what got us talking about coming to Savannah.  I had seen the Crabfest on Facebook and asked if he wanted to go.  Well the fest in Raleigh sold out but Savannah was still available, so we bought tickets.  This is the first time I booked a trip based on one event, other than our wedding lol.  The crabfest was fun, we lasted an hour before we were both stuffed and wanted to take another nap.

Our last day in Savannah we went to the beach again.  So glad for Sally Hansen Wax Strip Kit Body because we literally woke up, packed a cooler, and hit the road.  Sadly this day we both got sun burn.  I kept reapplying my sun screen but failed to remember my back, ouch.  We headed back to downtown after 4 hours at the beach.  After a quick shower we Ubered to City Market where we checked out more shops.  I met my first Trans, she was real nice considering I totally reacted when a deep voice came out of her.

We discovered a few tips to being in Savannah and not going broke.
1. Share your to go drink!  They range from $5-10 which can add up fast.
2. Set a time limit or you will have culture overload
3. Prepare to walk!  Comfortable Shoe's are a must.
This Marilyn statue was outside the first restaurant we stopped at for a Peach Sangria

We went to Wild Wing CafĂ© for dinner.  When we came out there was a band playing, so we sat and listened with our drinks.  Was so fun and the ladies were amazing singers!  Never know what will happen while in Savannah!
You can pick up any number of carriage rides!  I met this handsome horse in City Market.  After talking with the Man I found they do Haunted Night Rides where you hear all the folklore and scary tales of Savannah.

If you didn't know already General Sherman burned Savannah to the ground just so the North couldn't.  Most of the buildings were rebuilt in the 1860's.  The Architecture here is amazing with lots of metal work.  The streets are shaded under beautiful big tree's.  While the temperature is hot you don't feel it like I do in NC.  Being close to water creates a breeze along with the tree's to make being outside in July not uncomfortable.  I suggest you add Savannah to your travel bucket list!  We will be going back next year for our Anniversary.

How do you prepare for a trip?
