DIY - Polka Dot Sweater

I had so many comments on this outfit I thought I would repost how to make this sweater yourself!

Last year I went to Old Navy and purchased a plain cream sweater for $6!  I decided I would try to polka dot the front of the sweater with a technique I found online.  Here is what and how I polka doted my new sweater.
Here is the Old Navy cream sweater without dots.  I purchased a felt starter kit for $6.99 at Hancock Fabric.  It included some wool roving, felting needles, dense foam, and other items I didn't need.  It was perfect because the amount of dots I wanted to do didn't require more than the 3.5g included in the kit.  This is fun because you just jab the needle into the fabric.  Plus the wool is easy to adjust if it doesn't look right.

Starter kit and extra wool
Separate wool
use something to make shape
Poke wool until it holds
gently peal sweater from foam
use iron on wool setting when done
Finished product!

    1. I couldn't find what I wanted so I made it. It was so easy!

  2. Great job! Very cute and I love it with the skirt!

  3. Oh my goodness, you are so smart. I want to do this with a sweater and see how it pans out. Thank YOU!! Your outfit is adorable.

    1. Go for it! Super easy and it was like $5 for the kit, which I recommend you get because it comes with the foam block, wool, and needle.

  4. Dropping by from Three fer Thursday! Very cool DIY! Love the way it came out and how you paired it with the stripes :)
