Back Home - Traveling Tips

Traveling is difficult.  There are so many things that can go wrong.  For example - my trip to Saint Croix!  My brother's wedding was AMAZING!  I will post picture's later in the week once I review what I have.  I am so happy for my brother and sister-in-law.  I enjoyed myself as much as I could, but being around so much family for 4 days can get tiring when you aren't use to being around family.  Not to mention throwing a cold into the mix.  Oh and a delayed flight followed by a missed connection and lay over.  Some tips for traveling!

1. If you plan to check a bag, pack a full set of clothes in your carry on, along with bath essentials.  The airline won't give you your bag if you miss a connection and have to stay in a hotel at the airlines expense.
2. Pack medicine for anything!  Take a decongestant, cough drops, NyQuil (pill form), and Aspirin!  These will go through security as I brought some back with me.  You never know what is going to happen and it can be difficult to find med's when you are in a tropical place.  Better safe than sorry is my thought!
3. Pack snacks - chips, granola bars, etc.  These will go through security and are a necessity when you are trapped in an airport.  The food may be expensive or scarce.  Our airport in Saint Croix had one snack stand, after 4 hours they were starting to run low on items and what they did have was pricey.
4. If you have a kindle make sure you have it fully charged before leaving, this will be your saving grace.  People left me alone because I was reading.
5. Take a cup.  There are always water fountains and it is free!  I carry a travel coffee cup with me when I travel, it has a lid and can be easily filled at a water fountain.
6.  Pack tea bags.  You can get hot water just about anywhere.  It will also change things up when water is your main option.
7. Make sure you are comfortable in what you are wearing.  Can you curl up in the outfit and relax?  If not don't wear it!  I like leggings and long shirts, this way I can curl up in two chairs and take a nap if there is a delay.
Safe Travels!
Happy Shopping!
