Eating Right

As I have mentioned before my brother's wedding is in October.  Typically I wouldn't be worried but they are getting married in St. Croix.  Which means I need to look my best.  Between stress at home, work, and my health I have put on a few pounds and wouldn't subject my current appearance to anyone while in a bikini.  So I am jumping on a health food kick.  Here are some great tips for staying on the health food train.

1.  Prepare salad for the whole week.  You will be more likely to eat salad's if it is ready and easy to grab. This blog has a great tip on how best to prepare a salad.  I have done this for this week and have eaten salad for lunch everyday because of it.  click here to read.

2.  Stay away from sweets.  Instead grab some fresh fruit.  I purchase "easy" fruit - cherries, grapes, blueberries, and strawberries.  I personally don't like biting into an apple so I don't tend to purchase them.

3.  Find a workout buddy, or several!  I keep tennis shoes at work in case I am in the mood to walk.  Typically I can find one person in the office who will join me.  Also ask people if they want to set up a schedule to work out one or two days a week.  Put it on your calendar, you are more likely to do it!

4. Set a goal!  If you don't have a starting and stopping point then you won't feel great about your progress!  My goal is to loose 8 pounds and get a nice flat stomach in the process (not to mention fit in my winter pants).  I have a work out video (Brazil Butt Lift) that is great on the abs and I see results within two workouts.

Whatever your reason, or approach it is important to be healthy.  You never know when something will happen and you wish you had been healthier!
